Description

What’s the difference between a hart deer and a roe deer? It’s not the weight difference of a factor of around ten, and the question of gender doesn’t play a role here either. Hart deer and roe deer are quite simply different animals. Here in Savognin we’re looking for hart deer, and this excursion is something truly special.
The chance to observe wild animals in winter comes up very rarely – and for good reason. Stress can be deadly for game animals, particularly in winter. But biologist Marcel Züger’s guidance makes it possible to experience hart deer around Savognin in their winter home without disturbing the animals. Staying at a distance of around 200 metres from the deer also helps to make sure they are not disturbed. If you take a look through Marcel Züger’s field glasses, you’ll feel almost so close to the deer that you could reach out and touch them – and the excursion will to some extent meet this need too.
In addition to the actual stalking, Marcel Züger will provide interesting facts from the world of game animals, such as the difference between a horn and an antler. A lot of these facts can be seen up close, and the biologist always has props on hand to entertain guests of all ages.
